An Aussie Inspirational Story

MY STORY
WINNING is an autobiography that reveals a unique ability, right from childhood, to visualise, achieve and succeed. Through Gary Williams’ life story, despite his larrikin-style and mistakes made along the way, you will learn what it takes to achieve wealth and ultimate success in anything you choose to do and without qualifications or formal training. You can succeed on your own terms and under your own steam.

In ‘Winning’, this is reflected in so many areas of Gary’s life, including music, business, publishing, pilot training, gyro and helicopter flight, financial freedom, financial management and more.

By reading this book, you will learn the secrets and tips to follow to achieve your goals in any area, whether that be business, wealth building or honing your skills in a creative pursuit, to the highest level—or all of the above, as Gary has done.

His book will show you that anyone can achieve through adopting the same philosophies and the same level of passion, focus and commitment to a goal or set of goals. Don’t let anyone get in the way and don’t let anyone tell you ‘you can’t’. Believe in yourself and your ability; know that you are capable and do not waver from that belief; be focused and determined; set your goal and do it. The more passion you release to achieve, the more success you will experience.

Finally, you need to know that God wants you just as you are, not with you trying to be good to please him because if you are like me you suck at trying to be good.
BOOK REVIEWS
"I didn't know this until about a year ago, but I love autobiographies, especially inspirational ones that give me all the best feelings. Which is why I knew I was going to enjoy Winning by Gary Williams. Before I get into the bulk of my review, I'd like to provide my rating, which is 5 out of 5 stars.

First, Winning is a book about Gary Williams' life in South Australia. It showcases all his struggles but, more importantly, highlights all of his life wins. It's a book about courage, faith, and the undeniable truth that if you want something, you can absolutely get it.

I loved the author's style of writing and voice. It came through crystal clear as joking, calm, and welcoming. The book was a joy to read because it felt like I was just having a conversation with the author instead of simply reading about his life. I also adored the overall messages in the book, that "passion is attractive" and working hard and believing in yourself really do pay off. The author does an excellent job of selling those messages using examples from his life. They helped me to believe his words and hammer home the overall point.

Another aspect of the book that I loved was how brutally honest the author was about his life. He did not sugarcoat anything; he told it the way it happened and displayed his mistakes for the world to see. Most of us would be embarrassed or hide away from those hideous choices we made, but the author explains them with honesty and openness, which is so rare in today's world. It made me respect him more. The way the author spoke about his decisions with frankness and acceptance made me feel really good, like if the author can mess up and still live a full, happy, and content life, then the rest of us can too.

I will say that the only thing I didn't really like was how the author would sometimes jump timelines mid-chapter. It was confusing but didn't detract from my reading. I believe the book to be professionally edited as well; I only came across 2 errors, but they were not noticeable enough to hinder my enjoyment of the book.

All the reasons listed above are why I gave the book the rating I did. Even with the timeline changes, it was not enough for me to take away a star. I really truly enjoyed every minute I spent reading the book. It was also a relatively short read, or maybe I enjoyed it so much I sped through it, but I felt the book was fast to get through and therefore would make an excellent choice for readers who want a quick but inspirational book to boost their motivation and dopamine levels. I recommend this book to everyone. Truly, I believe each one of us can find something positive to take away from this wonderful autobiography."
